2 Day Basic Functional Assessment Course

Course Duration – 2 Days

Pre-Course requirements. Participants will need to have undertaken previous training in PBS. This should be at least foundation level. Alternatively staff could attend our 1 Day Introduction to Positive Behaviour Support course which meets this requirement.

Course Price ฿18000 per person

This course is designed to equip staff to perform basic functional assessments. This would be useful for students being supported with Tier 2 Strategies for example. Successful participants also be able to support professionals conducting more sophisticated functional assessments for students with more complex behaviours. This course is led by Kevin Ainsley who is qualified to Masters Level in ABA/PBS.

Participants will learn to use a number of tools designed to identify functions of behaviour, for example the Brief Behavioural Assessment Tool (BBAT) and The Motivation Assessment Scale. They will also learn to use tools designed to assess quality of life, wellbeing and happiness.

Participants will learn how the data gathered by these tools is used to structure and inform individualised behaviour support plans. Participants will also be confident in disseminating plans to colleagues.
